"VIGIL-AIDE"
ALARM SYSTEMS
These systems are made in Australia and may
be modified for special applications. Economically
priced, they are used in commercial, educational
and domestic applications in addition to hospitals
and nursing homes. Examples are the "wandering
student alarm" and "Man Down"
alarm when a person is working alone and may
have an accident requiring an automatic call
for help. There are portable systems that can
be used in hotels to alert a deaf person when
the fire alarm is activated.
- Most
alarms can be connected to existing nurse
call systems or have independently wired systems
or operate alarms by radio signals to initiate
audible, visual or vibrating alarms and personal
pagers.
- Special
alarm activation switches for existing systems
and patients with poor hand control.
- Design
of new systems or modification of existing
systems can often be provided to meet individual
needs

Alarm
systems can operate via existing nurse call
systems or via independent radio links to personal
pagers or to desk or wall mounted alarm receiver
units.
Independent Living Aids include an
automatic telephone dialler that calls up to
6 numbers in succession until one answers. This
can be used with most alarm sensors. There are
no on-going service fees.
